There’s something quite calming about clean lines, yet sometimes hard to envisage as a surface pattern. There really are so many options for applying them to different surfaces.
Clean Lines Surface Pattern Design Preview
It’s a constant fascination to explore how people view patterns. Personally I see so many options for each and every pattern I create, that it can become overwhelming as to their possibilities.
The Agony of Surface Pattern Scale and Colour
When you’re creating patterns for an unknown end product, the development process can sometimes feel a little agonising. Although, no less exciting or absorbing. It’s certainly a much easier process to create a pattern when you know exactly what the pattern is to be used on.
As in this case, it’s not always possible to know what the end product design is going to be.
Patterns in my Graphic Moda Fashion Print Collection allow for flexibility for the buyer. Seamless repeat patterns with editable files (some license options) provide more control over scale and colour changes.
I’ve previewed this pattern at smaller scale, on a shirt and tote bags. However, the end product could just as easily be large scale on bedding, or at small scale on notebooks. It will be interesting to see where this is used.
