Painting prep in the studio consisted of applying black gesso to cradled wood panels, previously textured. The texture will come in handy later.
Painting Prep Excitement
Maybe it doesn’t look very appealing at first glance. Yet, there’s something rather exciting about creating ‘blank’ space.
Facing a black space, or blank canvas, is often enough to scare the creativity out of an artist. However, if it’s viewed as the start of something, a new beginning, it’s usually a lot less scary.
As these smallish panels were left alone to dry, I went about my day with a buzz of excitement at the possibilities for these small black spaces.
Each of these panels have already started the journey toward a new beginning. Although yet to be deemed complete it’s rather exciting to know how far they have come already.
Whatever black space or blank canvas you’re facing, just make your first mark. Enjoy the journey of new beginnings.
Not sure when these will be ready to share, time will tell.
